Бенковски & Studio Dauhaus – independent culture and contemporary art platform Представят Видеодокументация от инсталацията „Зони на чупливост" и видеото „Криза на идентичността" на Димо Иванов и Соня Стоева от Монреал 08 септември 2010г. / сряда 19.00-22.00ч. Димо Иванов е роден в София 1984. Заедно със семейството си емигрира в Канада където завършва изящни изкуства в Concordia University, Монреал. Първите му изяви са в живописта и скулптурата, като постепенно инсталацията и изследването на пространството стават водещи в работата му. През 2010 участва на фестивала Owson Head, изложбата "Гранична ситуация: рисунката в съвременното изкуство", представена в „Индустриална 11", София, Фестивалът АКТО 05 в Битоля (Република Македония) и на „Аполония", Созопол. Соня Стоева завършва НХА през 2006г. специялност „Метал". От 2007г. живее и работи в Монреал, Канада. През 2009г. печели стипендията за млади артисти, което дава възможност за работа в собствено ателие. 2010г от конкурса на Conseil des Arts du Quebec (Съвета по изкуствата на Квебек) й дава възможност да работи в известната монреалска галерия "MUR". Най-новата работа на двамата, представена в Монреал през лятото на 2010г. е „Зони на чупливост". http://www.sodiart.com Видеодокументация от инсталацията „Зони на чупливост" Димо Иванов и Соня Стоева Инсталацията „Зони на чупливост" е проект, в който визуалното възприятие на обектите индивидуално взаимодейства с въображението на всеки зрител. Като включва светлина и звук в обща среда работата изолира зрителя от всяка друга реалност. Инсталацията е съставена от голям бял куб, в който зрителят е заобиколен от зоните на различни материали в тяхната чиста форма – каучук, захар, стъкло. „Екзистенциална криза" Димо Иванов и Соня Стоева Видео „Криза на идентичността" е видео, което представя артиста като обект, който изтрива свойте индивидуални характеристики / черти. xfilm night v Maluk sezon 2010

В рамките на Малък сезон 2010 галерия „Васка Емануилова" представя: xfilm night 02.07., петък, 23:00 ч. – 03.07., събота, 7:00 ч. Камерна зала, ТР „Сфумато" Нощта на xfilm е маратон с документални филми за изкуство, култура, музика, наука, а най-много за не-конвенционално мислене. Под-заглавие за нощта би могло да е цитат от Джордж Бърнард Шоу: "Разумния човек се опитва да се приспособи към света. Неразумния - да приспособи света към себе си. Затова човешкият прогрес се дължи на неразумните." Сред документалните филми за тази нощ са Крадете този филм, Tesla - Master of lightning, The Secret History of Hacking, Modulations, Confessions of a Burning Man, и други. Филмите са на английски или имат английски субтитри, без превод на български. Нощта на xfilm е инициатива на xfilm festival в рамките на платформата "Място за срещи" на галерия "Васка Емануилова", която предвижда серия от събития - лекции, прожекции и разговори за експерименталния филм и експанзията му във визуалните изкуства, мейнстрийм киното, новите медии и телевизията. Prozhekcia na Coffee with Sugar v NHG

Прожекция на международната видео програма „Кафе със захар" На 17 юни 2010, (четвъртък) от 18:00 часа Националната художествена галерия ще представи премиера на международния видео проект „Кафе със захар". В зала „Параклиса" на двореца посетителите ще видят кураторските селекции на Галина Димитрова (София), Анете Финсдотир/Netfilmmakers (Копенхаген, Дания) и Йонсун Шин/Lab.Preparat (Сеул, Южна Корея). "Кафе със захар" (Coffee with Sugar) е пътуваща прожекционна програма, в която с авторски селекции на дигитални медии участват куратори от България, Турция, Дания и Корея. Проектът представя творби, свързани с мотото „Кафе със захар", в което кафето ни поддържа винаги будни за всичко, което се случва в обществото и света около нас, а захарта "подслажда" живота ни с остроумие и чувство за хумор. Идеята за „Кафе със захар" е на Галина Димитрова – независим куратор от София. По инициатива на организацията Lab.preparat, Сеул тя се развива в международен проект. Първата част на проекта е реализирана през 2007-2008 г. - българската, датската и турската програми са представени в Сеул, а корейската програма реализира турне в страните на кураторите, участващи в програмата. Трима от участващите куратори подготвят нови програми по продължение на проекта „Кафе със захар". В новата компилация, с обща продължителност 73 мин. участват общо 15 видео творби, които поднасят разнообразни послания и визии, с които авторите коментират различни проблеми в съвременното общество. Национална художествена академия Магистърска програма „Дигитални изкуства" Модул „От тук накъде" Понеделник, 8 Март, 17:30 ч. Ателие №7 Лекция на Алена Уйлямс и Себастиян Бодирски „Светлината е вид ритъм", Алена Уйлямс (Берлин) Пътуване във времето: 1929 - 2009. Интервал от около 80 години дели киното на 1920, от филмите, които се обсъждат в новата книга на Алена Уйлямс "Светлината е вид ритъм". Книгата проследява отношението между светлина и движещ се образ от един ранен момент в историята на киното до днешния ден. Избрани съвременни художници – Jan Hammer, Jutta Koether, Andreas Wutz, Die Tödliche Doris, и Matthias Müller - предприемат връщане към по-ранна естетически ангажираност с киното. В техните филми, видео и дигитални слайдове, движещият се образ предлага алтернативен режим на мислене чрез абстракция. Алена Уйлямс е историк на изкуството и куратор със седалище в Берлин и Ню Йорк. В момента завършва дисертацията си "Движение на зрението: немска естетика и съвременна култура, 1915-1930" в Университета Колумбия в Ню Йорк, и е член на изследователската групата "Media of History" в Университета Bauhaus във Ваймар. Била в стипендиант на програмата „Аrt, Science & Business " в Akademie Schloss Solitude в Щутгарт. Институт за времево-базирана медия - Университет за изящни изкуства, Берлин, Себастиян Бодирски (Берлин) Медиите на филма, видеото и компютърните технологии отвориха възможности, които не са по никакъв начин изчерпани. Образованието в тези медии и комбинациите им е централен обект в Института за времево-базирана медия, центриран около експерименталната употреба на движещия се образ и проектирането на мултимедийни и интерактивни системи. Себастиян Бодирски живее в Берлин. Завършва класа "експериментално кино" на проф. // MASH UP // EUROPEAN MEDIA ART FESTIVAL OSNABRUECK 21. - 25. April 2010 Ausstellung: 21. April - 24. Mai 2010 www.emaf.de (english version below!) Grosses internationales Interesse am 23. European Media Art Festival. Auch in diesem Jahr ist das internationale Interesse am Osnabruecker Medienkunstfestival wieder gross. Ueber 2100 Kuenstlerinnen und Kuenstler aus allen Teilen der Welt haben Filme, Videos und Installationen eingesandt. Sie kommen z.B. aus Mexiko, Suedkorea, Australien, aus Kanada, den Niederlanden und Frankreich. Insgesamt gibt es Einreichungen aus 60 Laendern, am staerksten vertreten sind Deutschland, die USA und Großbritannien. Aber auch Arbeiten aus Afghanistan, Palaestina und den Arabischen Emiraten sind dabei - ebenso wie aus Russland, Tschechien und Argentinien. Deutschlandweit kooperiert das European Media Art Festival (EMAF) in diesem Jahr im Rahmen des Programms "National Heroes - Deutsche Kulturstaedte" mit Ruhr.2010. Dieses Projekt wurde entwickelt, um die Städte, die im nationalen Wettbewerb um den Titel Kulturhauptstadt Europa standen, einzubinden. Aus den ehemaligen Konkurrenten werden damit Partner, die als Staedteverbund am Programm der Kulturhauptstadt RUHR.2010 beteiligt sind. Ein weiteres nationales Kooperationsprojekt ist zur Zeit in der entscheidenen Phase: MEDIA ART BASE. Gemeinsam mit dem documenta-Archiv in Kassel und dem ZKM Karlsruhe wird bis 2011 eine Online-Datenbank zur Archivierung wichtiger Arbeiten der internationalen Medienkunst erstellt. Dieses Projekt wird maßgeblich von der Kulturstiftung des Bundes unterstützt. Weitere gute Kontakte werden ins europaeische Ausland gepflegt. So wird es in diesem Jahr erstmalig einen neuen, zusaetzlichen Preis geben, den "Live2011.com Grand Prix Event Award @ EMAF 2010". Once again, there is a great deal of international interest in this year's Media Art Festival in Osnabrück. Over 2100 artists from every corner of the globe have sent in films, videos and installations. The entries were sent from countries such as Mexico, South Korea, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands and France. Entries were received from a total of 60 different countries, whereby Germany, the USA and Great Britain are most strongly represented. However, there are also works from Afghanistan, Palestine and the Arab Emirates, as well as from Russia, the Czech Republic and Argentina. This year, the European Media Art Festival (EMAF) is co-operating at the national level with Ruhr.2010, as part of the "National Heroes - German Cities of Culture" programme. This project was devised to integrate the cities that competed against one another nationally for the title of the European Capital of Culture. In other words, the former rivals have now become partners which, as a co-operation of cities, are engaging in the programme of the Capital of Culture RUHR.2010. The festival also maintains good contacts to other European countries. For instance, an additional new award will be presented at this year's EMAF: the "Live2011.com Grand Prix Event Award @ EMAF 2010". This award, which is worth 1500 euros, is part of the overall competition "Live2011.com Grand Prix", announced by the European City of Culture 2011, Turku in Finland. Another national co-operative project is currently in the decisive phase: MEDIA ART BASE. In collaboration with the documenta archive in Kassel and the Centre for Art and Media Karlsruhe, an online database for archiving major international media art works will be completed by 2011. This project receives major funding from the German Federal Cultural Foundation. In addition, the EMAF has gained membership to two European support networks, both of which are used by the EU to support the production of artistic projects via its cultural programme. ВИДЕОХОЛИКА 2010 ще представи поредица от видео арт прожекции и изложби, презентации на утвърдени международни видео форуми и отличени видео артисти, паралелно с дискусии, отнасящи се до видео изкуството. Третото издание на ВИДЕОХОЛИКА ще се проведе под мотото ПОДДЪРЖАЙ ИЛЮЗИЯТА ЖИВА. В процеса на все по-сгъстяваща се иконосфера, мултимедии, хиперреалности и киберкултура, "мрежата от симулакруми" става все по-актуален феномен. Високи технологии, информация, интернет, кликане, теглене, задаване на команди, редактиране на спомени, изрязване на мечти. Изкуството задава ясно и отчетливо въпроса: „Ще ползваме ли всичко това, или ще се превърнем в самото него?" Създадената по този начин "хиперреалност" диктува поведението, възприятията и съзнанието на личността, като това води до загубване на субективността. Мотото на тазгодишното издание на фестивала апелира към запазване на идентичността/ автентичността в процеса на масово модифициране и унифициране на индивида. Понятието „илюзия" е обект на редица културни, социологически, религиозни, философски и психологически изследвания от времето на постмодернизма и продължава да бъде актуален проблем както с положителни, така и с отрицателни конотации. В този смисъл опазването/ съхраняването на нереалното е отрицание на материалния свят и протест срещу всевластието на информационните, социално-културни и политико-икономически спекулации. Решенията по селекцията на видео арт творбите ще се взимат от 5 членно жури. VIDEOHOLICA 2010 will present a series of video art projections and exhibitions and will make presentations of well-known international video art forums and honored video artists in parallel with discussions concerning video art topics. The 3rd festival edition will pass under the KEEP THE ILLUSION ALIVE motto. In the process of increasingly stiffening economic spheres, multimedia, hyper realities and cybernetic culture, 'the network of simulacra' has become increasingly live phenomenon. High technologies, information, internet, clicking, downloading, setting commands, editing memories, cutting out dreams! The art sets the issue: "Shall we use all this, or shall we transform ourselves into very it?" The "hyper reality", thus created, dictates personality's behavior, perception and consciousness, causing loss of subjectivity. The motto of this year's festival appeals to preserving one's identity/ authenticity in the process of mass modification and unification of the individual. The term "illusion" is the subject of many cultural, sociological, religious, philosophical and psychological studies from the time of postmodernism, and continues to be a live issue, both with positive and negative connotations. In this sense, the conservation/ preservation of the unreal is a negation of the material world and a protest against the omnipotence of information, socio-cultural and politico-economic speculations. The decisions about the selection of the videos will be made by the 5-member jury. Олимпийският романтизъм на ЛВ продължава да преподава университетска сияйност, постмодерен олимпизъм, писателски санаториуми и европейско връзкарство. Но се попипва като юноша и с другата ръка пише антипостмодерни доноси за всеки случай. Videoholica 2009 will take place over the period of 4 -13 August 2009 in Varna and will pass under the PEKING DUCK OR VIDEO IN TIME OF CRISIS motto.

344 videos of 138 artists from 31 countries were submitted to the 2nd edition of the Videoholica festival.

The selection of Videoholica 2009 has been made by Valeri Chakalov, Tsvetan Krastev, Georgi Krastev, Victor Petkov and Neno Belchev and will present 89 videos by the 71 artists from Australia, Austria, UK, Brazil, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Canada, Cyprus, Macedonia, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Russia, USA, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Taiwan, Tunis, Finland, France, Netherlands, Chili, Sweden, South Korea and Japan.

Besides the conventional video screening, this year's edition of Videoholica will present the following non-governmental art organizations: Tricky Women festival of animated film (Viena, Austria), S–AIR (Sapporo, Japan), VisualContainer – Italian video art distributor and web video art TV (Milan, Italy) and the NoPassWord №0 festival for contemporary art (Genoa, Italy).

Второто издание на МЕЖДУНАРОДНИЯ
ВИДЕО АРТ ФЕСТИВАЛ ВИДЕОХОЛИКА ще се
проведе от 7 до 17 Август 2009 във Варна.

ВИДЕОХОЛИКА 2009 ще представи поредица
от видео арт прожекции и изложби, както
и дискусии, семинари, отнасящи се до
видео изкуството, както в традиционни
галерийни пространства във Варна, така
и в нетрадиционни обществени
пространства, нови като обкръжение за
съвременното изкуство или където то е
малко познато.

Второто издание на ВИДЕОХОЛИКА ще се
проведе под мотото ПАТИЦА ПО ПЕКИНСКИ
ИЛИ ВИДЕО ПО ВРЕМЕ НА КРИЗА. Ние
вярваме, че това мото отговаря на
основните цели заложени във фестивала
и също така то определено е
провокиращо, актуално и дава
възможност за създаване на оригинални
визуални творби, засягащи широка сфера
от проблеми и значения. В условията на
глобална финансова криза, мотото се
фокусира върху два контрастни модела,
които контролират света - богатството,
излишеството и лукса от една страна, и
бедността и недоимъка в широкия смисъл
на понятието. Въпросното мото
кореспондира също така и с понятието
„високо” изкуство от една страна и
видео арт като една от най-популярните
съвременни художествени форми, които
все повече се превръщат в достъпна
медия за артисти от целия свят. В
рамките на мотото ПАТИЦА ПО ПЕКИНСКИ
ИЛИ ВИДЕО ПО ВРЕМЕ НА КРИЗА, това
издание на фестивала дава определена
посока за доближаване и развитие на
идеята за международно сътрудничество
и партньорство, касаещи видео арт
феномена със неговите сложни значения
и смисли.

Решенията по селекцията се взимат от 5
членно жури. Кандидатите, спазили
крайния срок и условията за участие, ще
бъдат допуснати до журиране, което ще
се проведе през ранния юли. Крайните
резултати ще бъдат обявени на
кандидатите по електронна поща
приблизително към средата на юли 2009.
Журито ще изготви представителна
селекция от 20 филма. Няма такса за
участие.

Приемането на документите и видео арт
творбите за участие във ВИДЕОХОЛИКА 2009
ще продължи до 20 юни 2009 и всички
кандидатури са добре дошли!

PEKING DUCK OR VIDEO IN TIME OF CRISIS

The 2nd edition of the VIDEOHOLICA INTERNATIONAL VIDEO ART FESTIVAL
2009 will take place in Varna from 7 until 17 of August 2009.

VIDEOHOLICA 2009 will present a series of video art projections and
exhibitions as well as discussions and workshops concerning video art
topics in traditional gallery spaces in Varna and also in
nontraditional outdoor public spaces, virgin for contemporary art
environment, or where it is less known.

The 2nd festival edition will pass under the PEKING DUCK OR VIDEO IN
TIME OF CRISIS motto. We believe this title corresponds with the core
aims of VIDEOHOLICA FESTIVAL and also it is definitely provoking,
actual, and gives opportunity to stimulate original visual art
proposals covering very wide sphere of problems and meanings.
Nowadays, in time of global financial crisis, the motto in question
focuses on two contrast models that control the world - luxury and
poverty - in the broad sense of the meaning. The motto also
corresponds with the concept of „high” art and the video art as one
of the most popular contemporary media, which nowadays is becoming
more and more accessible for the artists around the world. In the
frames of the PEKING DUCK OR VIDEO IN TIME OF CRISIS motto, this
year’s festival edition gives certain directions for approach and
development of the idea of international collaboration and
partnership, concerning video art phenomenon with its complicated
meaning and sense.

The decisions will be made by the 5-member jury. All the applicants,
who observe the rules and the deadline, will have admission to the
jury, which will take place in the early July 2009. The final results
will be announced and sent to the applicants by e-mail approximately
by the middle of July 2009. The jury will make representative
selection of 20 movies. There is no submission fee.

VIDEOHOLICA 2009 open call will run until 20 of June 2009 and all
applications are very welcome!
