ФЕСТИВАЛ УЛИЦА ОТЕЦ ПАИСИЙ – ТЕКСТ 11 - 13 МАЙ 2012, ПЛОВДИВ (english version below) За трета поредна година една улица става тема, сцена и фокус на градски събития в дните между 11-13 май 2012 г. Това е ул. Отец Паисий в Пловдив. Фестивал „Улица Отец Паисий - Текст" е третото издание на ежегодния проект Улица Отец Паисий, началото на който беше поставено през 2010 г. В първото издание Фондация Отворени Изкуства организира тримесечен културен фестивал като голям изследователски проект с две изложби „Улицата Сега" и „Улицата Преди" и фокус-събитие „Уикенд Фест". През 2011 г., под мотото „Улица Отец Паисий – Успоредната градска култура – Препокриване, времевият фокус на събитието се стесни до уикенд фестивал, в рамките на който се организираха 48 разнообразни по жанрове събития на 36 локации по улицата. Промяната на формата и тематичния фокус на Фестивал Улица Отец Паисий в реакция на живата градска култура е основна негова характеристика през годините, а мисията му е да стимулира и посочва нейните нови прояви. През 2012 г. Фондация Отворени Изкуства фокусира на темата „ТЕКСТ". За куратори на „Фестивал Улица Отец Паисий – Текст" са поканени Крум Филипов и Виктор Янков. Според концепцията на кураторите, улица Отец Паисий за няколко дни ще се превърне в лаборатория за текстове. Текстът превръща улицата в диалог като изгражда многопластова ситуационна среда. Динамичните трансформации на текстове от различни нива по улицата ще представляват една особена „карнавалност", артистично смесване на текстове от „висок" и „нисък" ред. Интертекстуалните мостове в движението по улицата са по-интересният път на културна идентификация и одухотвореност и текстът ще се превърне в провокация за всеки, който може да борави с него. Формите на изява на тези търсения ще бъдат - театрални лаборатории, пърформанси, изложби, моноспектакли, литературни четения, прожекции. Предвиждат се лекции, дискусии, срещи с автори и издателства и други. КРУМ ФИЛИПОВ е роден през 1969 г. в София, но е израснал в Смолян. Завършва българска филология в СУ „Климент Охридски" през 1995 г. През 2000 г. завършва „Театрална режисура" в класа на проф. Иван Добчев – НАТФИЗ „Кр.Сарафов", а през 2001 г. специализира „Кинорежисура" в класа на проф. Георги Дюлгеров. Автор е на две книги с поезия „Затръшнато небе" и „3,14 стихотворения". Лауреат е на конкурсите за поезия „Веселин Ханчев" - Ст. Загора, „П.Яворов"- Поморие, „Най-ярък дебют в литературата" - БНР, „Годишна награда за поезия" на радио „Дойче веле" и др. Режисьор в на спектакли, документални филми, музикални видеоклипове и телевизионни програми, участвали и награждавани в престижни фестивали у нас и в чужбина. От 4 години е режисьор и съсценарист на „Метафора" – предаване за книгите и четенето по БНТ-Пловдив. ВИКТОР ЯНКОВ е роден през 1988 г. в Стара Загора. Завършва езикова гимназия „Ромен Ролан" в родния си град. От 2006 г. започва да работи като водещ в регионалния център на БНР, а през 2007 г. със свой колега създават музикалното радио предаване „Инсомния". През 2008 г. се мести да учи и работи в Пловдив, където завършва специалност „Политология". Той е сред издателите на вестник „Млък" и е сред сценаристите на телевизионното предаване „Студио ВУЗ". От година и половина е водещ и съсценарист на литературното предаване „Метафора" по БНТ2. През уикендите, все още, може да го намерите като едно от лицата зад бара в аrtnewscafé. ---------------------------------------------------------------- FESTIVAL OTETS PAISIY STREET –TEXT MAY 11 – 13, 2012, PLOVDIV For a third consecutive year a single street becomes the subject, scene and focus of numerous city events during May 11 to 13, 2012. This is Otets Paisiy Street in Plovdiv. The Festival "Otets Paisiy Street –TEXT" is the third edition from the annual project Otets Paisiy Street which began in 2010. In the first edition Open Arts Foundation organized a three-month cultural festival, in the form of a big research project with two exhibitions "The Street Now" and "The Street Before" and a focus-event "Weekend fest". In 2011 the motto "Otets Paisiy Street – The parallel city culture – Overlapping" narrowed the time focus of the event to a weekend festival with 48 diverse events on 36 locations in the street. The changing of the format and the subject focus of Festival Otets Paisiy Street in reaction to the living city environment is the festival's main distinction through the years and its mission is to stimulate and point out the city's new activities. In 2012 Open Arts Foundation puts the focus on the topic of "TEXT". As curators of this year's Festival Otets Paisiy Street – Text are invited Krum Filipov and Victor Yankov. Their idea is to transform Otets Paisiy Street into a laboratory for texts for a few days. By building a multilayered situational environment the text turns the Street into a dialogue. The dynamic transformations of texts from different levels along the street will represent a particular "carnival" feeling, artistic mixture of texts from "high" and "low" line. The inter-textual bridges in the traffic along the street are the more interesting route of the cultural identification and spirituality and the text will become a provocation for everyone who can work with it. These quests will be expressed in different ways – theatre laboratories, performances, exhibitions, one-man shows, literature readings, and screenings. There will be also lections, discussions, meetings with authors and publishing houses, etc. KRUM FILIPOV was born in 1969 in Sofia, but grew up in the town of Smolyan. He graduated Bulgarian philology from Sofia University in 1995. In 2000 he graduated also "Theatre directing" and "Film directing" from the National Academy of Film and Theatre Arts in the class of prof. Ivan Dobchev. He wrote two books of poetry – "Slammed sky" and "3,14 poems". He has been awarded prizes in numerous poetry competitions – "Veselin Hanchev" – Stara Zagora, "P.Iavorov" – Pomorie, "Most bright debut in literature" – Bulgarian National Radio, "The annual poetry prize" – Deutsche Velle radio, etc. He is directing shows, documentaries, musical video clips and television programmes, that were listed or awarded in prestigious festivals in Bulgaria and abroad. Since 4 years he has been a director and co-writer of "Metaphor" – a TV show about books and reading on BNT-Plovdiv. VICTOR YANKOV was born in 1988 in Stara Zagora. He graduated from the Romain Rolland High School in his home town. In 2006 he began work as a host in the regional centre of the Bulgarian National Television and in 2007 together with a colleague created the music radio show "Insomnia". In 2008 he moved to study and work in Plovdiv where he graduated Political studies. He is among the publishers of "Shut up" newspaper and is one of the writers of the TV show "Studio UNI". In the last year and a half he has been host and co-writer of the TV show for literature "Metaphor" on BNT-Plovdiv. Фондация Отворени Изкуства обявява: КОНКУРС ЗА ДЕБЮТЕН ПРОЕКТ ФЕСТИВАЛ УЛИЦА ОТЕЦ ПАИСИЙ - ТЕКСТ 11-13 май 2012, Пловдив Краен срок: 1 април 2012 Фондация Отворени Изкуства има удоволствието да отправи покана за участие в конкурс за дебютни проекти за третото издание на Фестивал „Улица Отец Паисий - Текст". Фестивалът ще се проведе на 11, 12, 13 май 2012 година в обществени, лични и публични пространства по продължението на улица Отец Паисий, Пловдив. ФЕСТИВАЛ УЛИЦА ОТЕЦ ПАИСИЙ - ТЕКСТ Фестивал „Улица Отец Паисий - Текст" е третото издание на проект Улица Отец Паисий,  началото на който беше поставено през 2010 г. Традицията на фестива да представя паралелната градска култура дава богата възможност за многовариантни интерпретации на различни видове текст. Така темата на фестивала тази година най-общо може да бъде определена като „ТЕКСТ". Фестивалът ще протече в рамките на един уикенд и неговият фокус ще бъде насочен към динамични трансформации на текстове с помощта на различни събитийни изразни средства. По познатите локации на улицата ще се състоят презентации, дискусии, акции, театрални лаборатории, прожекции и четения като всяка от тях ще стъпи смислово на многообразните разбирания на текста. Текстът превръща улицата в диалог като изгражда многопластова ситуационна среда, затова усилията ще бъдат насочени към фрагментиране текстовия творчески безпорядък на паралелната улица чрез визуализация и артистични акции. Интертекстуалните мостове в движението по улицата са по-интересният път на културна идентификация и одухотвореност. КОЙ МОЖЕ ДА КАНДИДАТСТВА За отворената покана могат да кандидатстват организации, частни лица, съюзи и сдружения, творчески екипи, които правят своите дебютиращи опити във визуалните изкуства и литературата. КАКВИ ПРОЕКТИ МОГАТ ДА КАНДИДАТСТВАТ Приемат се дебютиращи проекти в областта на видео интерпретацията на поетичен текст. Изисква се кратка форма на материалите. Видео филмите трябва да бъдат презентирани за първи път в рамките на фестивала и да са с некомерсиално послание. Ще бъдат толерирани дебютиращи автори, които са използвали изцяло авторски материали. ПОДБОР НА ПРОЕКТИ Селекция на проектите ще бъде направена от организаторите на фестивала – Фондация Отворени Изкуства и от неговите куратори за 2012 г. - Крум Филипов и Виктор Янков. •    Един проект по Отворената покана ще бъде финансово подкрепен от Фондация Отворени Изкуства и ще бъде включен в бъдещата фестивална програма на Фондацията и комуникиран от нея. Together Again at Radiator Gallery NYC

Together Again Exhibition dates: March 2 - March 20, 2012 Opening Reception: March 2, 6 - 9PM Special event: March 9, 6 -9PM Artists: Adam Frelin, Daniela Kostova, Georgi Tushev, IM International, Michel Kong, Paul Jacobsen, Vikenti Komitski, Yael Kanarek Curated by Daniela Kostova. Site-specific projects by guest curator Natalia Mount. The show's title is based on a piece by Vikenti Komitski, which presents an intriguing world map whose continents have come together in a single, interconnected body. Is this restored Panguea, a Utopian island or a new world order? Is it the result of natural disaster or of carefully engineered forces of globalization? Is it before us or after us? "Together Again" is charged with both contradiction and potential, fueled by a Romantic sentiment that togetherness/solidarity is still possible. The show is immersed in the "ideal," presenting artistic gestures that push beyond a possible yet desirable future. Landscape is a recurring motif, behind which lie attempts to observe and contemplate, efforts either enhanced or mediated by technology. This detour back into the natural realm is interrupted by an accelerating tension between nature and culture. Thus is formed the overall arch among these artists' exercises in Utopia. In Paul Jacobsen's imagery social norms have been vanquished, renewed sensuality is everywhere and the natural world is looked upon with honor and wonder. Jacobsen first seduces the viewer with over-sexualized nudity, then confronts us with a bold pronouncement about the world we've created: "Civilization is a Bridge from Paradise to Nowhere." Continuing the rhetoric further in another piece, he waves a black flag at us, suggesting unity without nationality, in a space of zero gravity. In Yael Kanarek's piece the viewer becomes hostage to an irresistible landscape of languages, radiating from center to periphery in a perfect red circle – a wavelet of emotions. Drawing from her personal history living between cultures, languages and body languages, and her study of Networked Society as an increasing global phenomenon, the artist proposes that the future citizen can only be post-national. The photograph by Daniela Kostova is an ironic celebration of internationalism. A white dove has landed on the head of an infant child in a space suit, its sewn-on badges suggesting affiliation with countries previously on opposite sides of a divide, Capitalist and Communist. The image feels borrowed from a TV commercial designed to convince us of a dream which anyone's money can buy: the Cold War is over, globalization of space is a reality and even infants can fly. An attempt at gaining more space is seen in the video by Georgi Tushev that presents flying as Utopia. Using custom made aircrafts with mounted, remotely controlled cameras, Tushev offers an experience that challenges our physical limitations. Grounded in the immigrant experience, his work is an emanation of changing human conditions resulting from global processes. Tushev's second piece, "Strange Attractor," is a mysterious "formation-painting" created by the Earth's magnetism and never touched by hand. In Adam Frelin's video, a golden boulder floats impossibly on water, enjoying its fictional freedom despite the constraints of its small pond. In another video, "Unknown Lesson," (a collaboration with Michele Kong) a blind woman drives a car. In both cases, human and stone, limits set by the subject's very nature are challenged and conquered, allowing us to experience the impossible. This contagious spirit of "dreams come true" is a temporary reality in a participatory project by Immigrant Movement International, simultaneously an artwork and a social movement. Their "Immigrant Respect" pin becomes a flag, a gesture in solidarity – an ideal which we sense might still be possible. Special Events: March 2 and March 9 Guest curator Natalia Mount organizes a series of elevator based performances and sound works, which highlight themes of contemporary cultural production of simulation and appropriation. Her projects also deal with issues of commodification, fetishism and shamanism. Фондация Отворени Изкуства представя: (english version below) ДА ПОГОВОРИМ ЗА ПАЗАРА 1. За парите филмова премиера петък, 24 февруари 2012, 19:00 ч. Кафе Панорама ул. Кирил Попов 4, ет. 2, Капана, Пловдив  КРЪВ - ЗЛАТО - КАЗИНО - РИСК - ПРОВАЛ - БАНКА - ДОВЕРИЕ – КАРИБСКИ ОСТРОВИ Това са първите седем основни думи за съставянето на енциклопедия за стария и новия пазар в Капана, Пловдив, която ще бъде попълнена с още други сто думи, събрани от различни експерти. Тези експерти ще споделят и представят знанието си на „Черен пазар за полезни знания и не-знания" по време на една дълга нощ из улиците и магазините на Капана. „Черен пазар за полезни знания и не-знания" е широко известен формат, разработен от „Мобилна Академия" – продуцентско бюро, основано в Берлин от Хана Хурциг. Събитието „Черен пазар" ще събере още стотина експерта, които ще споделят знанието си с публиката на различни места и по различни теми. От август 2011 г. насам екипът на „Черен пазар" в Пловдив е в търсене на избрани експерти в сферата на икономиката. Не е задължително те да идват от определени университети или институции. Също толкова търсени са и експертите от ежедневието - собствениците на заложни къщи, обменни бюра, както и местни търговци. Капана представлява същината на тези теми – като търговски център от повече от 500 години, който поддържа някои характеристики на ориенталско търговско място в една модерна социална структура. В рамките на този проект Мобилна Академия, Берлин продуцира документален филм за шестимата експерти от предстоящия проект под заглавието „Черен пазар". Премиерата на този филм ще е в петък, 24ти февруари, от 19 часа в Кафе Панорама в самото сърце на Капана. Филмът си струва гледането, в него г-н Ганев от Центъра за Либерални Стратегии разкрива най-сигурната инвестиция. On Money film premiere Friday, February 24, 2012 at 7 p.m. Café Panorama, 4, Kiril Popov, str., 2nd floor, Kapana, Plovdiv BLOOD - GOLD - CASINO - RISK - FLOP - BANK - TRUST - CARIBBEAN These are the first seven keywords for compiling an encyclopedia of the old and new market in Kapana, Plovdiv, which will be completed with another set of one hundred keywords collected by different experts. These experts will share and perform their knowledge at the "Blackmarket for Useful Knowledge and Non-Knowledge" event during one long night in the streets and shops of Kapana. The "Black market for Useful Knowledge and Non-Knowledge" is a widely renowned format by "Mobile Academy" - a Berlin-based production office initiated by Hannah Hurtzig. The event "Blackmarket" will gather up to one hundred experts on different sites and with differing topics, to share their knowledge with the audience. Not following the classic manner of a panel discussion however, this activity will be carried out in intimate face-to-face conversations. Since August 2011 the "Blackmarket" team in Plovdiv has been searching for designated experts in the field of economics. But these experts do not necessarily come from universities and institutions. Experts from everyday life like pawn shop and exchange bureau owners as well as local merchants are also in high demand. Kapana is a crucial place to talk about these issues - being a center of commerce for over 500 years and maintaining some typical characteristics of an oriental trading place within a modern social structure. Within the frames of this project the Mobile Academy produced a documentary introducing the first six experts from the upcoming project "Blackmarket". On Friday February 24, 2012, at 7 p.m. this film will be premiered at the Panorama Café, in the very heart of Kapana. The film is worth watching as Mr. Ganev from the Sofia-based think-tank "Center for Liberal Strategies" reveals a dead certain investment opportunity.
