FORGET YOUR PAST                                        Монументалните паметници  от времето на комунизма Никола Михов  – фотографска изложба 10 – 24 февруари 2010г.        Български културен институт, Берлин.     Откриване (в присъствието на автора):  10  февруари  (сряда), 19ч.                                                   Графитът "Forget Your Past'' над входа на дом-паметника на БКП на връх Бузлуджа, илюстрира  съдбата на българските паметници от времето  на комунизма. Някога символ на гордост и  преклонение, днес повечето от тях  са запуснати и разграбени. Посветени на Съветската  армия  или на  Априлското въстание, всички те споделят една и съща съдба – да бъдат безмълвен символ на забравеното минало. Въпреки  демонтирането на много от тях, днес в България има  над 150 паметника, построени в периода между 1945 и 1989 г. След политическите промени много от тях не са припознати от държавата и остават безстопанствени. Никой не разполага със сведения за точния им брой, а информация за авторите и историята им липсва. Серията ''Forget Your Past'' хвърля светлина върху 14 от най-внушителните монументални паметници  в България, построени по времето на комунизма. Освен  композираните  в диптих снимки, изложбата включва и подробни сведения за архитектите, скулпторите и  историята на всеки паметник. Серията е реализирана в рамките  на проекта ''Следа'', който обединява творци и архитекти около идеята за приобщаването  на паметниците от времето на комунизма  в съвременната градска среда. По време на изложбата  ще бъдат представени архивни  снимки и извадки от книги, свързани с монументалните паметници в  България Досега изложбата  е показвана по време на „Месеца на Фотографията" в Лондон , "Zero Budget Festival" в гр. Вроцлав, Полша, както и в Центъра за култура и дебат ''Червената къща'' в София и ''Artnewscafe'' в Пловдив. Никола Михов е роден в София  през 1982 г. Автор е на самостоятелни изложби  в София, Париж, Лондон и Загреб. Участвал е в редица международни групови  изложби. Носител  на наградата ''Фото школа'' на международното фотографско биенале ''Фодар'' през 2009 г. и на наградата за репортажна фотография от конкурса на Българска фотографска  академия през 2007 г. През февруари един призрак броди из София. Призракът на Апостола. Обесеният фундамент да си българин. Недокоснат от разлагането и времето. Бьорн Андерсен влиза, като рус дякон в Пантеона. Със счупен врат и отворен ковчег. Народът, като венециански турист следва прекрасното. Рамбо-13 се ориентира по миризмата на нетление. Звярът изпада в транс и пророкува: проблемът не са чорбаджиите, колаборационистите в небесната йерархия на Отоманската империя, проблемът е днешният – манталитета на дребния и среден бай хуй, неподатлив на отвлечени, обединяващи фикции. Културният тероризъм подгрява турското робство в казана на лайфстайла. Генералът умря, да живее Генерала. И само Левски!

Сняг се сипе на парцали, на Шипка всичко е спокойно, що ще чиниш ти зимъска?

Ела в ателие Пластелин – сряда, 10 февруари от 18, 00 часа. Започваме с киноавангард от апостолските времена. Националната революция, свободата води народа – важното е, че е по цици. Следва – за пръв път в Пластелин – паяци, змии и пъдпъдъци. Корпоративният Джон Рамбо чете поезия и проза. До първа кръв. О, майко моя, родино мила, защо тъй жално, тъй милно плачеш? Джон – ти си вече андрогин, а Дърк Богард превзе Венеция. Елате на топло в ковчега, защото през февруари в София е студено и смъртта е навсякъде. Патриотизмът винаги е готик - за вашето добро настроение – ebm, индъстриъл, дарк-фолк и всякакъв друг димитровградски декаденс.

European Media Art Festival. Auch in diesem Jahr ist das internationale Interesse am Osnabruecker Medienkunstfestival wieder gross. Ueber 2100 Kuenstlerinnen und Kuenstler aus allen Teilen der Welt haben Filme, Videos und Installationen eingesandt. Sie kommen z.B. aus Mexiko, Suedkorea, Australien, aus Kanada, den Niederlanden und Frankreich. Insgesamt gibt es Einreichungen aus 60 Laendern, am staerksten vertreten sind Deutschland, die USA und Großbritannien. Aber auch Arbeiten aus Afghanistan, Palaestina und den Arabischen Emiraten sind dabei - ebenso wie aus Russland, Tschechien und Argentinien. Deutschlandweit kooperiert das European Media Art Festival (EMAF) in diesem Jahr im Rahmen des Programms "National Heroes - Deutsche Kulturstaedte" mit Ruhr.2010. Dieses Projekt wurde entwickelt, um die Städte, die im nationalen Wettbewerb um den Titel Kulturhauptstadt Europa standen, einzubinden. Aus den ehemaligen Konkurrenten werden damit Partner, die als Staedteverbund am Programm der Kulturhauptstadt RUHR.2010 beteiligt sind. Ein weiteres nationales Kooperationsprojekt ist zur Zeit in der entscheidenen Phase: MEDIA ART BASE. Gemeinsam mit dem documenta-Archiv in Kassel und dem ZKM Karlsruhe wird bis 2011 eine Online-Datenbank zur Archivierung wichtiger Arbeiten der internationalen Medienkunst erstellt. Dieses Projekt wird maßgeblich von der Kulturstiftung des Bundes unterstützt. Weitere gute Kontakte werden ins europaeische Ausland gepflegt. So wird es in diesem Jahr erstmalig einen neuen, zusaetzlichen Preis geben, den "Live2011.com Grand Prix Event Award @ EMAF 2010". Dieser Preis ist mit 1500 Euro dotiert und wird von der Europaeischen Kulturhauptstadt 2011, dem finnischen Turku, für das EMAF ausgelobt. Zudem konnte das EMAF Mitglied von gleich zwei europaeischen Foerdernetzwerken werden, in deren Rahmen die EU über ihr Kulturprogramm die Produktion von kuenstlerischen Projekten unterstuetzt. Im Projekt MOVING STORIES wird auf Initiative des EMAF ein neues Multimedia-Kunstwerk der international renommierten Kuenstlerin Candice Breitz ermoeglicht. Das EMAF leitet darueber hinaus die Kooperation TRANSIT, in der Kunstinstitutionen aus Deutschland, Frankreich, Belgien, England, den Niederlanden, Polen und Litauen zusammenarbeiten. Once again, there is a great deal of international interest in this year's Media Art Festival in Osnabrück. Over 2100 artists from every corner of the globe have sent in films, videos and installations. The entries were sent from countries such as Mexico, South Korea, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands and France. Entries were received from a total of 60 different countries, whereby Germany, the USA and Great Britain are most strongly represented. However, there are also works from Afghanistan, Palestine and the Arab Emirates, as well as from Russia, the Czech Republic and Argentina. This year, the European Media Art Festival (EMAF) is co-operating at the national level with Ruhr.2010, as part of the "National Heroes - German Cities of Culture" programme. This project was devised to integrate the cities that competed against one another nationally for the title of the European Capital of Culture. In other words, the former rivals have now become partners which, as a co-operation of cities, are engaging in the programme of the Capital of Culture RUHR.2010. The festival also maintains good contacts to other European countries. For instance, an additional new award will be presented at this year's EMAF: the "Live2011.com Grand Prix Event Award @ EMAF 2010". This award, which is worth 1500 euros, is part of the overall competition "Live2011.com Grand Prix", announced by the European City of Culture 2011, Turku in Finland. Another national co-operative project is currently in the decisive phase: MEDIA ART BASE. In collaboration with the documenta archive in Kassel and the Centre for Art and Media Karlsruhe, an online database for archiving major international media art works will be completed by 2011. Jim Finn's "The Juche Idea" (2008) with Oleg Mavromatti and Daniela Kostova screening at the MoMA Monday Feb 1 The Museum of Modern Art in NYC: An Evening with Jim Finn Monday, February 1, 2010, 7:00 p.m. Theater 2 (The Roy and Niuta Titus Theater 2), T2 A brilliant and wickedly satirical mash-up of documentary, fictionalized restaging, and agitprop, Jim Finn's The Juche Idea (2008) takes as its inspiration and its target the film theories and principles of self-reliance espoused by North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Il. Absolutist in the extreme, the Dear Leader's moviemaking edicts were designed to uphold the "monolithic ideology of the Party." Finn subjects them to withering parody through genre-defying experimental conceits, incorporating scenes from North Korean melodramas and propaganda films dating back to the 1950s, allusions to the 1978 kidnapping of the late South Korean filmmaker Shin Sang-ok, and absurdist reenactments of English-language lessons from official textbooks. Robert Koehler in Variety writes, "The evidence that current film-making is brimming with original, standard-breaking creations has to include the work of Jim Finn…. To say that [his] films open up new possibilities for satire, ideas, and language isn't an overstatement."
