Photonic Moments annual group exhibition offers a review of contemporary photographic creativity from the region of Eastern and South-eastern Europe . It is a photographic event that primarily unites the ingenuity of the younger and middle generation of emerging artists. The purpose of the event is mostly a quality synoptic assortment, therefore we invited recognised experts; curators, gallerists and critics from seven countries of the region prepared selection of authors and their works, that were as a whole for the first time presented in Gallery S of Ljubl jana castle in October 2007.

Presentation of the exhibition in Graz is product of continual cooperation between two cultural organisations, Cultural City Network (CCN) from Graz and Photon Gallery from Ljubl jana that has been proved very productive in the past years. In last two years CCN brought in Ljubl jana the group exhibition of young and emerging Austrian contemporary photographers titled Counter-Points and selection from the large scale group exhibition Foto Graz. CCN also provides the award, residency program, scholarship and solo exhibition in Graz , for the chosen artist from the Photonic Moments exhibition. In 2007 the award was granted to Bulgarian artist Alexander Valchev.

This year exhibition Photonic Moments IV will perpetuate its concept of searching, presenting and networking of artists working in the field of contemporary photography. The opening of Photonic Moments IV exhibition project will take place on 22. of October 2008 in Mala galerija in Cankarjev dom, what will at the same time indicate the opening of the third edition of Month of Photography festival 2008.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
